Solving the Crossword

• Click a cell on the crossword grid, or click a clue to enter your guess in the grid.
• The active cell is highlighted in blue
• The word will turn green if the word is correct. Keep guessing till the word gets green.
• You can use the tab and shift-tab keys and the arrow keys, to move around the crossword.
• Your progress is saved in real-time, so you can close the browser window at any time and revisit the crossword later. Do not clear cookies or cache and use the same device and browser if you wish to do so.
• If you refresh the page, press on continue button to start from where you left off.
• If you have any query, you can click on 'Submit Query' button below the crossword and send us your queries.
• There's no need to submit anything. As you fill up the crossword, your answers will be automatically recorded.

Rules and Regulations

1. Chem-E-Cross will be a two-crossword puzzle series with one crossword each released in February.
2. This is an individual participation competition.
3. Undergraduate college students from any engineering background can participate in this competition.
4. Timestamp of the submission will be considered in case of a tie.
5. Your email id will be your unique ID throughout the series.
6. The answer to each of the given clues is unique.
7. Any form of plagiarism using social media or other means will lead to immediate disqualification.
8. The final decision-making authority lies with Team AZeotropy, IIT Bombay.

Leaderboard

1. A leaderboard will be maintained with the scores of all participating students for every month.
2. Your score of this round will be compounded with those in forthcoming crosswords, and an overall leaderboard will be maintained in addition to the individual monthly leaderboard.
3. The leaderboard will be shared within a week of the date of completion of each edition with all the participants.
4. The overall leaderboard will feature only those students who participate in all four puzzles of Chem-E-Cross series.

Certificates and Prizes

1. The top 10 winners of the monthly puzzle will feature on our social media handles and will be awarded prizes worth INR 3000 and certificates.
2. The top 5 winners of the overall Chem-E-Cross series will be awarded prizes worth INR 10,000.
3. The top 10 participants of overall competition will be awarded certificates.
